Introduction

Panchang system is a systematic and developed form of ancient Indian time calculation and astrology. In fact, the current Panchang serves to integrate (combine) the various parts of Indian astrology (Tithi, Vaar, Nakshatra, Yoga, planetary communication, solar eclipse details etc.) in one place. In the Vedic and Puranic times before BC itself, there is a law to make auspicious resolution before starting every auspicious work like marriage, worship-recitation and yajna-rituals. In the resolution of auspicious works, the pronunciation of Samvat name, Ayan, Ritu month, Paksha-Tithi, War, Rashi, Nakshatra etc. is considered necessary. The details of all these elements are definitely found in the Panchang. There is a special description of the subtle system of time calculation in Indian astrology-calculation. In which the description of numbers from zero to crores, billions and trillions is found. Indian almanacs have played an important role in showing the time system. Descriptions of Uttarayan, Dakshinayan, Hemisphere, Vasantagrimadi Shadritu, Samvat month, Chandrakrishna Paksha, Purnima, Amavas, Ekadashi etc. dates, Vaar, Nakshatra, Yoga, planetary communication, solar lunar eclipse, auspicious marriage auspicious times, festivals etc. are described in Panchang. Glorious Vedic culture expresses important aspects of civilization. Panchang is not just a calendar showing dates, but it clearly reflects the form of ancient Indian civilization and culture in all our festivals etc. Almost all Indian festivals are based on Tithi, Vaar, Nakshatradi, whose scientific and mathematical description must be present in a one-level almanac.

History

In the year 1875 AD, when our great-grandfather respected Pandit Devi Dayalu ji started the Panchang Diwakar (magazine) in Lahore (Pakistan), at that time the misrule of the British Empire was going on in India. For many years in the 17th century and before that, the people of India were in a state of fear, despair and struggle due to the atrocities of foreign robbers like Hunas, Jews, Yavanas, Mughals etc. In the 18th century, most of the people were upset and sad due to the exploitation of the British Empire. The social and political environment was turbulent and conflictual. Due to dependence, most of the people were turning away from the feelings of theism. Although voices of freedom and revolution started emerging from many parts of India. In such troubled environment, the shelter of religion and God was necessary. Great saints and savior saints like Shri Guru Nanakdev ji, Saint Ravidas ji, Swami Vivekananda were born in that period to re-communicate faith in religion and religious activities. In such difficult circumstances, inspired by the spirit of welfare of the people, Pandit Devi Dayalu ji made a good resolution to publish a serial series every year named Panchang Diwakar.
